Hen Party Ideas in London: Five Plans Built Around a Comedy Show
Start With One Thing Booked
Most hen groups are a mix of people who have never met: school friends, work friends, sisters, mums and sometimes a grandmother. The hard part of planning is finding one activity that suits all of them, fits the budget and still leaves time for food and drinks.
A live comedy show solves that part. Nobody has to perform, nobody needs a skill, and it works for 22-year-olds and 62-year-olds in the same row. It also has a fixed start and a fixed end, which makes the rest of the day easy to plan around.
Each plan below uses our real show times and prices. Pick the one that matches your group, then build the meal and drinks around it.
Five Hen Party Plans
1. The afternoon hen
When: Saturday, 4PM at Soho and 5PM at Covent Garden. Tickets £15.
Meet for a long lunch, see the matinee, then go into the evening with energy left. This is the plan for a group with older relatives or anyone with a train home. Our Soho venue is downstairs in a West End pub, with Chinatown across the road for dinner afterwards.

2. The Saturday night hen
When: Saturday, 7PM, 8PM and 9PM at Covent Garden. Tickets £15.
The early show suits a group who want dinner after. The later shows suit a group who eat first. Our Covent Garden room has a full bar inside, so the group can settle in with a drink before the show starts. Saturday is our busiest night, so book this one first.

3. The Friday start to a hen weekend
When: Friday, 7PM, 8PM and 9PM at Covent Garden. Tickets £15.
On a weekend away, the first evening is the hardest one to plan. People arrive at different times and half of them have not met. A show gives everyone the same place and time to arrive, and the laughing does the introductions. Then the bigger Saturday plan has a group that already knows each other.

4. The budget hen
When: Monday, 8PM. Tickets £8. Or Sunday, 8PM, tickets £12.
Not every hen can ask friends to spend a fortune. A weeknight show keeps the ticket to the price of a drink, and it suits a quieter hen or a small group of close friends. It also works as a second, cheaper get-together for the people who cannot make the main weekend.
All prices by night are on What's On.
5. The big hen
Who: groups of more than 10.
A bigger group can still come to a public show. Email [email protected] with your date, show and numbers before booking, and we will arrange it with you. For a show that is only your group, a private booking starts from a minimum total budget of £4,400 including VAT at one of our venues. To add a meal, our dinner and comedy packages book the restaurant and the show together.
Group booking detail is on our hen party comedy night page.
Tickets from £8 to £15. Prices correct as of 8 November 2026 and set per show on Ticket Tailor.

Before You Book: What Hen Organisers Ask Us
- Photo ID for everyone. Every show is 18+, and a guest without valid photo ID cannot be admitted or refunded. Say it twice in the group chat.
- Arrive together. Seating is unreserved, so a group that arrives together sits together. Agree to meet nearby before doors, rather than at the door.
- Sashes yes, shouting no. Veils and matching t-shirts are welcome. A group is responsible for all of its members, so if anyone disrupts the show the whole party is asked to leave.
- Phones away during the acts. Please do not film the comedians. Take the group photo before the show or afterwards.
- Stairs at every venue. None of our rooms is step-free. If a guest has access needs, email us before you book.
- Plans change. Tickets are non-refundable, but we offer a free transfer to another show or a voucher for their value.
Where the Shows Are
Every venue is in the West End, a few minutes' walk from the tube, so the meal and the bars after the show are all close by.
- Covent Garden: Arboretum, 2A Charing Cross Road, WC2H 0HF. 2 minutes from Leicester Square tube. Doors open an hour before the show (30 minutes before the Friday 9PM; 45 minutes before the Saturday 8PM; 30 minutes before the Saturday 9PM).
- Soho: Downstairs at The Spice of Life, 6 Moor St, W1D 5NA. 3 minutes from Leicester Square tube. Doors open 15 minutes before the show.
Doors times matter for a group: the earlier you are in, the more choice of seats you have together.
Hen Party Planning FAQ
How far ahead should we book a hen party show?
Saturday is our busiest day, so book a Saturday hen as soon as the date is fixed. Groups of up to 10 book online. Groups of more than 10 email [email protected] with the date, show and numbers before booking, ideally at least two weeks ahead. A private show needs more notice — allow four weeks.
Does everyone in the hen group need ID?
Yes. Every show is 18+ and you may be asked for valid photo ID whatever age you look. A guest without it cannot be admitted or refunded, so put "bring photo ID" in the group chat.
Can the hen wear a sash or veil?
Yes, sashes, veils and matching t-shirts are welcome. Tell us it is a hen party when you book and the host may give the bride-to-be a mention from the stage.
What if the plans change after we book?
Tickets are non-refundable, but if you can no longer come we will always offer a free transfer to another show or a voucher for the value of your tickets. Email [email protected] with your booking reference.
Are the venues step-free?
No. All of our venues are reached by stairs. If anyone in the hen group has access needs, email us before booking and we will advise; a companion or support worker gets a free ticket.
How long does the show last?
Every show is 90 minutes, at every venue, so a 7PM show is finished by about 8:30PM and the rest of the day stays yours.
